Eight-year-old Max learned the signs of stroke at a Jump Rope for Heart assembly. Then this happened.
That was in 2018, when a donation helped ensure kids learned the FAST signs of stroke. Today, Max and his dad Mike are still rattled by what happened that day. It was scary and tense, but it brought them closer together.
“If I never learned the FAST signs of stroke, we wouldn’t be where we are today,” says Max. Whether they’re practicing volleyball or for Max’s driving test, they know that every moment they spend together is a gift.
"None of this would have been possible without donations to Heart & Stroke," says Mike.

Today, Max and Mike cherish every moment together.

Signs of stroke
Stroke is a medical emergency. If you experience any of these signs, call 9-1-1. Do not drive to the hospital. An ambulance will take you to the closest hospital that provides urgent stroke care.
