Results-driven philanthropy leader joins Heart & Stroke

Michelle Brisebois appointed senior vice president for Quebec

Heart & Stroke is pleased to announce the appointment of fundraising expert, Michelle Brisebois, as senior vice president, Quebec.

“Michelle is an impact-oriented, collaborative leader with a highly successful record of building strong connections with donors, partners, government and business leaders alike,” says Doug Roth, CEO at Heart & Stroke. “We’re thrilled to have her bring her values-driven leadership experience to our efforts in the Quebec region as an integral part of the larger shared vision for the organization.”

Brisebois will play a key role on the executive team at Heart & Stroke, leading a dedicated team of employees and leadership volunteers in Quebec. She will be directly responsible for leading and supporting the creation and implementation of fundraising efforts in Quebec, while working collaboratively to drive mission impact across the country.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of such a collaborative and dedicated national team whose values and commitment to beating heart disease and stroke are truly inspiring,” says Brisebois. “I’m very much looking forward to forging the connections and fostering the partnerships that will drive impact and improve the heart and brain health of all Canadians, and in particular, those that advance women’s health priorities.”

Prior to joining Heart & Stroke, Brisebois was executive director at Institut du cancer de Montréal where she was responsible for overseeing the institute’s operations and revenue development, including major gifts and planned giving, as well as leading community and donor relations and partnerships. Past roles also include assistant general manager at Fondation Cité de la Santé and director of programs and services at the Arthritis Society.

With close to 17 years of experience working in philanthropy, Brisebois has a clearly demonstrated results-driven, progress-oriented approach to leadership and a highly successful record of securing major gifts and building strong connections with constituents that includes corporations and government. This coupled with an extensive understanding of the not-for-profit space, makes her an ideal ambassador for Heart & Stroke in Quebec.

Brisebois has a bachelor’s degree in communications and human relations from the L'Université du Québec à Montréal and volunteers with several organizations that promote youth in the arts, women’s health and food security through her work with Oxy-Jeunes, the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation and the Center de bénévolat et moisson Laval among other others.
