Esteemed social sector leader joins Heart & Stroke

Tania Little appointed senior vice president for Ontario and Nunavut

Toronto (Jan. 7, 2022) – Heart & Stroke is pleased to announce the appointment of Tania Little as senior vice president, Ontario and Nunavut.

“Tania’s strategic insights, collaborative partnership approach, and experience leading high-performing teams will be a strong asset as we work to drive mission impact,” says Doug Roth, CEO at Heart & Stroke. “Tania is an accomplished leader as well as a tireless champion for community impact and improving the quality of life for people across the country.”

Little will be responsible for fund development and mission initiatives in both Ontario and Nunavut. She will serve as an integral member of Heart & Stroke’s executive team working alongside other members to foster an integrated approach to stewarding the organization’s strategic vision and delivering on its mission to beat heart disease and stroke.

“Like many people in Canada, I have personally witnessed how heart disease and stroke can affect individuals, their caregivers and their families. I have also seen how healthcare inequalities and systemic barriers can hinder access to the care and tools needed to prevent and treat diseases,” says Little. “I am proud to join Heart & Stroke and excited to help create a positive impact on the heart and brain health for all people in Canada.”

Prior to joining Heart & Stroke, Little served as chief development and partnerships officer for Food Banks Canada, leading their extensive fundraising and cross-sector partnerships, food acquisition and supply chain efforts. Little is currently co-chair of the Canadian Marketing Association’s Not-For-Profit and Social Sector Council. She has also held various governance roles while with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, including locally, nationally and internationally, as well in the community health sector.

In 2020, Little was recognized as a recipient of the Report on Business Best Executive Awards for outstanding leadership.
