Time Commitment: 3 or more shifts (approximately 15 hours total) between December 9-24 at either location

Overview: 

The Heart and Stroke Foundation, a volunteer-based health charity, leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living, and advocacy.

Heart & Stroke volunteer teams will offer gift-wrapping by donation to the public at the following locations in Toronto in December 2019:

RioCan Yonge-Eglinton Centre (2300 Yonge St) 

RBC Plaza (200 Bay St)

In partnership with RioCan and Oxford Properties, donations received from the gift wrapping will help to support our mission of preventing disease, saving lives and promoting recovery. We are currently looking for enthusiastic volunteer gift wrappers and shift leaders to form our gift wrapping teams this December.

Some activities associated with this role include: 

Provide professional and efficient customer service.
Provide gift wrapping services according to protocols defined during training.
Arrive to shifts on time and ready to contribute.
Additionally, shift leaders will oversee the effective running of the team and be responsible for supporting revenue admin. 

Qualities you’ll need for this role:

Experience in gift wrapping.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Intermediate fluency in spoken English. Ability to communicate in other languages is an asset.
Ability to follow instructions and problem-solve with limited supervision.
Excellent organizational and communication skills; the ability to multitask.
Enjoy interaction with other team members.
Due to space limitations, should be physically able to stand continuously for at least four hours.
Additionally, shift leaders should have leadership skills. 

 **Please also note volunteers under the age of 18 will need signed permission from a parent/guardian.

Orientation and training:

Training on gift-wrapping service protocols is required and will be scheduled before Gift Wrapping start dates. Sessions are located at the Heart and Stroke Foundation office at 1300-2300 Yonge St. Please choose 2 dates:
Thursday 28 November 6:30-7:30pm (extra training for shift leaders until 8:30pm),
Wednesday 4 December 6:30-7:30pm (extra training for shift leaders until 8:30pm), OR
Saturday 7 December 10-11am (extra training for shift leaders until 12pm)
