Fraser Area – Big Bike Team Captain


Overview:

Gather friends, family and colleagues and inspire them to raise funds to ride the one and only Heart and Stroke Big Bike!  Riders on a team solicit pledges and gear up for a great spectacle. This wacky, fun event is a great way to build team spirit and profile in your community. A Big Bike Team Captain rallies and recruits a team of up to 29 participants who ride on a 30-seat bike and raise money in the fight against heart disease and stroke.

  • May 15th, 2018 – Surrey (Newton)
  • May 16th, 2018 – Burnaby (Still Creek)
  • May 17th, 2018 – Burnaby (Metrotown)
  • May 22nd, 2018 – Burnaby (Glenlyon)
  • May 25th, 2018 – Coquitlam

Commitment:
  • Attend your local event day (~1 hour) 
  • A few hours each week to motivate your team leading up to your event day
Principal responsibilities:
  • Recruit team members for the Big Bike Ride
  • Register team online and support team members on registering online
  • Organize and liaise with team members for event day
  • Coach team members to ensure fundraising goal is reached
  • Assist Big Bike Coordinator with various communications and kickoff presentation
  • Assure a smoothly run event for participants
  • Aid in the registering of team for following year 
Qualities you’ll need for this role:
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service skills
  • A fun, confident, and enthusiastic personality
  • Ability to inspire and motivate participation
  • Comfortable encouraging pledge and online fund raising
